STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE FOR IMPORT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY EQUIPMENT
As per the Sr. No. 110 of Table I of the Sixth Schedule of The Sales Tax Act 1990 Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) is required to issue a certificatefor dedicated use of renewable source of energy.
Importers of the solar equipment are required to apply to AEDB for issuance of certificate. The application shall accompany the documents outlined in this list. Please scroll down and select the import items applicable to your application and submit the documents accordingly.
Upon receipt of the application along with listed documents complete in all respect, AEDB will review the documents and will check the quantities stated in the application for issuance of certificate within seven (07) working days.
The importers of the solar PV system/ equipment are requested to apply to AEDB for issuance of certificate immediately after the receipt of copy of bill of lading / air way bill to avoid delay / demurrages upon arrival of the shipments.

i. Attested copy of Bill of Lading (BL) / Air Way Bill;
ii. Attested copy of invoice/ packaging list indicating quantity and description of PV panels imported; and
iii. Certified copy of work order and/or signed contract (if applicable).
i. Attested copy of Bill of Lading / Air Way Bill;
ii. Attested copy of invoice/ packaging listclearly indicating quantity and description of LVD lamps imported;
iii. Certified copies of any of following; signifying provision/ installation of LVD induction lamps and establishing their use dedicatedly forrenewable source of energy like solar andwind.
a. work order/ purchase order; OR
b. signed contract; OR
c. project documents; OR
d. Goods Declaration (GD)/ invoice, packaging, BL forimport/ local purchase of solar panels, charge controller and/ or batteries (during last 6 months);
iv. Undertaking/ Certificate on company/ firm’s letter head that the LVD lamps imported are for dedicateduse on renewable source of energy (solar/ wind as the case may be) and will not be used/ operated on any other source of energy.
i. Attested copy of Bill of Lading / Air Way Bill;
ii. Attested copy of invoice/ packaging list indicating quantity and description of SMD/ LEDs imported;
iii. Certified copy of any of following; signifying provision/ installation of SMD/and establishing their usededicatedly forrenewable source of energy like solar and wind.
a. work order/ purchase order; OR
b. signed contract; OR
c. project documents; OR
d. Goods Declaration GD/ invoice, packaging, BL for import/ local purchase of solar panels, charge controller and/ or batteries(during last 6 months);
iv. Undertaking/ Certificate on company/ firm’s letter head that the SMD/ LEDs imported are for dedicateduse on renewable source of energy (solar/ wind as the case may be) and will not be used/ operated on any other source of energy.
i. Attested copy of Bill of Lading / Air Way Bill;
ii. Attested copy of invoice/ packaging list indicating quantity and description of wind turbines including alternators and mastimported;
iii. Certified copy of work order and/or signed contract (if applicable).
i. Attested copy of Bill of Lading / Air Way Bill;
ii. Attested copy of invoice/ packaging list indicating quantity and description of solar torchesimported;
iii. Certified copy of work order and/or signed contract (if applicable).
iv. Undertaking/ Certificate on company/ firm’s letter head that the solar torches imported are for dedicateduse on solar source of energy and will not be used/ operated on any other source of energy.
i. Attested copy of Bill of Lading / Air Way Bill;
ii. Attested copy of invoice/ packaging list indicating quantity and description of Lanterns and related instruments imported;
iii. Certified copy of any of following; signifying provision of lanterns and related instruments and establishing their use dedicatedly for renewable source of energy like solar and wind.
a. work order/ purchase order; OR
b. signed contract; OR
c. project documents; OR
d. Goods Declaration GD/ invoice, packaging, BL for import/ local purchase of solar panels, charge controller and/ or batteries(during last 6 months);
iv. Undertaking/ Certificate company/ firm’s letter head that the lanterns imported are for dedicateduse on solar source of energy and will not be used/ operated on any other source of energy.
