Asian Development Bank (ADB) offered a Project Preparatory Technical Assistance (PPTA) in 2005 to identify Renewable Energy (RE) projects in the public sector that were commercially viable and could be financed by a commercial loan of ADB. AEDB was designated as the Executing Agency (EA).The PPTA identified a total of 08 subprojects, 03 in NWFP and 05 Punjab, |

which were considered suitable for financing by the ADB. An additional 08 raw sites were identified for conducting feasibility studies and subsequent implementation. Sindh and Balochistan could not identify any projects due to lack of resource data and lack of capacity within the relevant government departments. | |
